5 Red Flags in a Yoga Teacher Training Contract

Teacher Training is an investment in yourself. But some studios treat students like free labor. Here is what to avoid.

1. The "Indentured Servant" Clause

Some contracts require you to teach 20 "community classes" for free after graduation. This is illegal in many states. You should be paid for your work.

2. The "No Refund" Trap

Life happens. If you get sick or moved for work, is your $3,000 gone forever? Look for a policy that allows you to transfer your credit to a future training.

3. The "Exclusive" Non-Compete

Does the contract say you can only teach at their studio for a year? Run. A YTT should empower you to teach everywhere.
