How to Price Your Drop-In Classes vs. Series

Pricing is the most emotional part of business. Charge too much, and you feel greedy. Charge too little, and you resent your students. Here is the data-backed way to structure your rates.
The "Anchor" Price
Your Drop-In rate exists for one reason: To make your Series look like a deal.
If your Drop-In is $25 and your 6-Week Series is $120 ($20/class), the savings are negligible. But if your Drop-In is $35, suddenly that $120 Series feels like a steal.
Why Series > Drop-Ins
As an independent instructor, you want Commitment Revenue, not weather-dependent revenue.
- Retention: Students who pay upfront for 6 weeks show up 40% more often.
- Cash Flow: You get the cash on Day 1 to pay your studio rental fee.
- Community: The same group meets every week, building bonds that keep them coming back.
The Golden Ratio
Aim for your Series price to offer a 20-30% discount per class compared to the Drop-In.
Example: Drop-In: $30. 10-Class Series: $220 ($22/class).
